East Carolina needs to improve its shooting this season, and coach Joe Dooley hopes new recruits will help in that department. Vance Jackson is at his fourth school, but he is a good 3-point shooter, and Wynston Tabbs is back after averaging 13.3 points last season. The Pirates have plenty of depth in the backcourt and overall have four starters returning. South Carolina State was one of the worst teams in college basketball in 2020-21, finishing with a 1-17 record, and the Bulldogs now have a new coach in Tony Madlock. The Bulldogs have three starters returning from a squad that was near the bottom in the country in shooting percentage, so that isn't exactly good news. Take East Carolina.
