Columbia was the worst team in the Ivy League last year (1-13) as they step way up in competition for their second game. Columbia leans on its backcourt, but will struggle against UConn's tenacious defense. Columbia is on a 6-3 run UNDER the total. Connecticut was second in the Big East last season in points given up (68 per game) and third in shooting allowed (.419). The Huskies are allowing 51 points per game after two contests. UConn is on a 15-8 run UNDER the total. Play Columbia/Connecticut UNDER the total.

Columbia at Connecticut

November 11, 2011

The UConn Huskies have won three National Championships since 1999, and will begin defense of their latest against Columbia tonight at Gampel Pavilion. This arguably may be the most talent-laden crew of any of the three championship teams. The Huskies frontcourt is loaded with the top recruit in the country Andre Drummond to side with Alex Oriakhi, and another stud wing in Deandre Daniels. Jeremy Lamb has already reached All-America status, and point guard Shabazz Nappier is very adept at finding open targets with no-look passes. That isn't good news for Columbia who starts the season with four departed front-court players, and the mismatches abound all over the court. Take UConn for the blowout in this one.
