Cincinnati Bearcats vs Richmond Spiders Point Spread Picks

Richmond and Cincinnati have both advanced in the winner's bracket at the Cayman Islands Classic. The Bearcats put their #12 ranking on the line in the opener vs. a tough Buffalo squad, and came away with a hard fought 73-67 win to move to 4-0 on the season. But, Cincinnati fell well short of the 16-point spread in that one. They face another huge spread here and while they should win the game easily, I don't think they are going to cover this large number. Richmond entered the tournament winless at 0-2, but managed to steal a win vs. UAB as a 10-point underdog 63-50. Under head coach Mick Cronin, this Bearcats team underperforms as a favorite, going just 89-108 ATS in that role. Under Cronin, they are also just 58-74 ATS after back-to-back wins. Take Richmond plus the points. Also take the UNDER. Since the start of the 2009 season, the Bearcats are 147-90-3 to the UNDER. Richmond showed resolve on the defensive end in the opener limiting UAB to 33.3% shooting, and slowed the game to a snail's pace with just 103 total shots attempts. The Bearcats shot under 40% in the opener, but held a good offensive team in Buffalo to 35%. Cincy's four opponents have yet to top the 35% mark in shooting. Play on Richmond and the UNDER.
