App State Mountaineers vs Duquesne Dukes Point Spread Picks

The Duquesne Dukes have played to a 6-5 record on the season, and really haven't been much of a factor in the A-10 for years. They have already lost games to Robert Morris, and New Hampshire, and they are going to struggle once conference play opens. They have a nice player in Ovie Soko who scores 17.3 points per game, and five players score in double-digits, but that isn't the problem. Their problem is that they do not get after it on defense. Appalachian State is winless against Division-1 competition and has yet to cover a point spread, which always good for a few extra points in the line as we have here. Duquesne has been a complete no-show vs. bad teams, as they are a woeful 1-10 ATS in their last 11 vs. a team below .400. Play on Appalachian State.

Duquesne hasn't had a great start to the season, but it's been a lot better than that of Appalachian State. The Mountaineers have posted just one win in an unlined game vs. Montreat-Ander (who?). Since that opening game win, they have gone 0-4, allowing 89 points per game. The Dukes have won two of their last three, the last being an impressive double-digit win over Youngstown State. App State is just 3-10 straight-up since last season when following a game in which they covered the spread as this team simply isn't good enough to put positive streaks together.
