Akron Zips vs Cal Irvine Anteaters Point Spread Picks

Akron is 8-3 and coming off a 99-88 win over Marshall on Saturday. Noah Robotham scored a team-leading 27 points for the Zips, who also shot 58.6 percent from the field and made 15-of-28 three-point attempts. Two of Akron's losses were to Gonzaga and Creighton, two of the top teams in the country, and the Zips are shooting 37.4 percent from beyond the arc after ranking second in the country last season in three-pointers made per contest.  Cal Irvine is having a down year and has lost three straight after an 85-79 loss at New Mexico State on Monday. The Anteaters are shooting just 41.3 percent from the field and lost to the Aggies even though New Mexico State shot only 36.1 percent and Jaron Martin exploded for 33 points for Irvine. This game is being played in El Paso and the Zips are favored by about five points, but the safe bet is to play Akron to win this one straight-up.
