Miami Marlins vs Washington Nationals

Washington is on a 6-5 run winning as underdogs of +300, +205, +155, +155, +110, and +125. Their defense is No. 1 in fielding percentage and they've taken the first two of this series, 3-1 and 11-4. Patrick Corbin comes off a strong performance against the Dodgers, the best offensive team in the majors, allowing no runs in 5+ innings. Starter Ryan Weathers has allowed 12 hits and 5 runs in 10 innings at home, including a 9-3 loss to the Pirates as a favorite. And the Miami bullpen is terrible, 23rd in ERA (4.84) and 29th in WHIP. The offense is worse, 28th in runs scored and on-base percentage, plus 29th slugging, while the defense is 25th in fielding percentage. The two bottom teams in the NL East meet in this one and Washington has the advantage with Trevor Williams on the mound and they have won three of his four starts this season. Williams has allowed only seven runs on 15 hits in 21 2/3 innings, including one run on three hits in six innings in a 5-4 10-inning victory over Houston on Saturday. Anthony Maldonado was recalled from Triple-A and will make his major-league debut for Miami and likely will pitch only three or four innings. The Marlins bullpen has a 4.73 ERA with only four saves. The Nationals are 14-9 UNDER on the season and 7-3 UNDER their past 10 games. Miami won its third in a row 11-5 on Saturday and continued its dominance over the Nationals with a 25-6 record the past 31 meetings. Jesus Sanchez and Bryan De La Cruz each hit a three-run homer and Jake Burger added two solo shots for the Marlins, who banged out 18 hits and Washington lost its fourth straight game. Sandy Alcantara has had a disappointing season, but the last two months he has kept his ERA under 3.50. Washington batters are a combined 16-for-90 for a .178 batting average with two homers against Alcantara. Josiah Gray pitched only two innings on Monday and allowed four runs on four hits and he is 7-11 with a 4.05 ERA and 1.48 WHIP on the season. The Nationals are back in last place in the NL East.
