Detroit at Montreal

Detroit is near the end of its rebuilding phase. It had won two straight before losing in overtime to Florida and then 5-4 against Toronto on Saturday when each team scored three goals in the third period. Montreal dearly misses Carey Price in net as the Canadiens have lost eight of their first 10 games this season, including 4-2 versus Anaheim on Sunday. Jake Allen is off to a rough start filling in for Price with a 2-6-0-0 record and a 2.91 goals-against average to go with a .907 save percentage, although he hasn't gotten a lot of help as the Canadiens are averaging only 1.9 goals per game. The Red Wings are in a revenge spot after losing the first meeting, 6-1, on Oct. 23, and they had won the previous four meetings. Play the Red Wings.
