Chicago at New Jersey

Marc-Andre Fleury had an inauspicious debut for his new team Chicago as he allowed three first-period goals while losing 4-2 to Colorado on Tuesday night. He did settle down and finished with 32 saves, but now has to go on the road to New Jersey in its season opener. The Devils figure to be more competitive this season as they added Dougie Hamilton and left wing Tomas Tatar to help out the young nucleus and center Jack Hughes. New Jersey has three capable goalies and either Jonathan Bernier or Scott Wedgewood will start tonight. The Blackhawks are 6-21 their past 27 games as road underdogs and they are 5-11 the past 16 meetings at New Jersey although this is the first meeting since 2019. Play the Devils.
