Buffalo at New York

Both teams have been struggling lately with COVID and other issues and New York hasn't played since Dec. 19 when it suffered a 4-3 shootout loss against Vegas. The Islanders have lost 14 of their last 17 games while Buffalo has split its last two games, but lost 4-3 to New Jersey on Wednesday. The Sabres won the last two meetings 2020-21 and this will be the first one this season. The last five meetings have gone OVER and both teams went OVER their previous games. The Islanders have lost eight of their last 10 home games and they are 4-12 versus the Eastern Conference. Malcolm Subban will make his third start for the Sabres and he gave up three goals in an overtime loss at Pittsburgh on Dec. 17. Ilya Sorokin is 2-5-2-0 his last nine decisions for New York.
