The Astros have scored 60 runs their past six games and have moved 2 1/2 games ahead in the AL West. Oakland is 20-52 on the road and it has lost four of six overall and will face Framber Valdez, who is 11-9 with a 3.30 ERA and 1.11 WHIP. Houston has won his past two starts, including 14-1 against Texas when Valdez allowed one run on six hits in seven innings. Valdez has faced the Athletics three times in 2023 and given up just five runs on 14 hits in 20 innings. Mason Miller will start for Oakland and it has lost his past four starts.
