New York at Miami

New York got off to a good start as Brandon Nimmo hit a tiebreaking two-run double in the seventh to propel the Mets to a 5-3 win over the Marlins, who have lost seven of the past nine meetings. New York sends David Peterson to the mound and he finished 7-3 with a 3.83 ERA in 2022 and he had an especially good April allowing just one run in 14 innings for a 0.64 ERA and .188 opponent batting average. Peterson pitched 18 innings against Miami and allowed five runs last season. Jesus Luzardo goes for the Marlins and he was 4-7 with a 3.32 ERA in 2022, but just 2-5 and 4.25 at home and he gave up seven runs on 10 hits in 9 1/3 innings against the Mets. New York has won 39 of 58 versus the NL East and the Marlins have lost 29 of 41 home games. Take the Mets.
