The Kansas City Royals have now seen the Oakland A's pass the torch for the worst team in MLB. The Royals last had a winning season in 2015, and appear certain to reach the ugly 100-loss mark this season. Horrible teams over 162-game seasons will have a couple of good stretches where they win and play well, but they will have a lot more occurrences where they are playing even worse than their record. The Royals are in a freefall right now. They are 4-20 in their last 24 games, and the losing streak has reached ten games.
