Kansas City has lost seven of its last 10 and dropped to 25-28 on the road. St. Louis is 31-26 at home and has won seven of its last nine home games and the Cardinals are on a four-game winning streak overall. The Royals have lost their last five interleague games and four of their last five road contests overall. Mike Leake has not allowed more than three runs his last three starts covering 18 innings while walking only two batters. Meanwhile, Trevor Cahill has been roughed up to the tune of seven runs and 14 hits in 8 2/3 innings since coming over from the Padres.
