Houston at Texas

Texas not only improved to 7-0 in the playoffs with a 5-4 win over the Astros on Monday, but now the Rangers get Max Scherzer back and he is scheduled to start Game 3 of the ALCS. The Astros hit four solo homers, but were 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position, and they have run into a buzz saw with the red-hot Rangers who can do no wrong this postseason. Scherzer finished 13-6 with a 3.77 ERA and 1.12 WHIP while splitting time between the New York Mets and Texas and he has a 3.58 ERA and 164 strikeouts in 27 postseason appearances. Cristian Javier was 10-5 this season, but with a 4.56 ERA and 1.27 WHIP although he hasn't allowed a run in this year's postseason. The Rangers' offense presents a bigger challenge though as they finished third in the league with 881 runs scored. Texas batters have a .786 OPS with seven home runs in 123 at-bats against Javier.
