Cincinnati still is tied for a Wild Card spot as it tries to bounce back from a 6-4 loss at Saturday when Nolan Arenado hit a go-ahead two-run homer in the eighth for the Cardinals. The Reds are 12-5 their past 17 games after giving up at least five runs their previous game, and they are 8-3 the last 11 meetings. St. Louis has lost six of its past 10 and it is 3-8 its past 11 games following a win. Cincinnati has won four of Sonny Gray's last five starts, and he has given up only seven earned runs in that span, including two runs on two hits in five innings against St. Louis on Sept. 1. J.A. Happ has a 6.24 ERA and has been pummeled his last two starts allowing 11 runs on 15 hits in only six innings, including seven runs in one inning versus Cincinnati. Play the Reds.
