In the second game of this double-header I like the underdog Arizona Diamondbacks. They'll likely be entering this game off a loss and no one likes to lose two straight on the same day. In adition to that motivation, the D-Backs will face John Thomson who has really struggled of late giving up 20 runs in just 14.3 innings over his last three starts. While I'm not backing them against Smoltz in game one, the D-Backs are 17-12 this season as an underdog and start Claudio Vargas is 8-2 over the past two seasons as an underdog of +125 to +150 over the past two seasons. Atlanta is just 11-19 this season as a favorite of -100 to -150. Arizona here.
