Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #5 (ESTANCIA) (2-1) - Veteran has finished second twice here already in 2016 after turning 10-years-old. Both were at this tag and he's back in top shape after returning from an eight month layoff Dec 19. Speed/stalker looks set to get win #15.
2nd pick: #1 (Dal's Pal) (4-1) - Another 10-year-old, he's been on the sidelines since August 26 when he won a six furlong contest at Assiniboia Downs. Home bred has won off of similar layoffs in the past and worked a bullet five furlongs here Jan 24. Believe he's the main danger.
3rd pick: #3 (Proud Comet) (6-1) - Calif bred is racing third back from almost a six month absence. Gelding has raced evenly in his return pair and can factor with a bit of improvement.
4th pick: #2 (Brassy Pete) (10-1) - State bred rated, bid, then weakened racing at this level going six furlongs Jan 16. It was his first race in 14 1/2 months and he's brought back quickly while shortening up in distance. He has many races showing in 2014 that would make him a serious threat if repeatable.
