Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #2 (MEET ME IN L A) (3-1) - A very lightly raced Stronach home bred, this son of 'Awesome Gain' has been brought along slowly by the patient barn of Jimmy Jerkens. The 3yo broke his maiden at Belmont going a mile June 20 and has worked here five times since July 22. He enters off a bullet five-furlong breeze Aug. 20, and he may have a bright future.
2nd pick: #4 (Extraordinary Jerry) (5-2) - One of two multiple winners entered, he's moving up in class while switching from turf to dirt for Todd Pletcher. The last time this stalker raced on the dirt, he was an easy winner going a mile at Gulfstream May 3. The distance isn't a problem, and John Velazquez is aboard for the first time.
3rd pick: #1 (Mo Gotcha) (5-1) - Another that's been lightly raced, he's been competitive in all three starts, has the rail, and is working fast for his first since June 8. At this nine-furlong, two-turn trip, the inside post is a big advantage. This gelding by 'Uncle Mo' should be involved every step.
4th pick: #6 (Felix In Fabula) (8-1) - Veteran has as many wins (seven) as the rest of the field combined. He finished 3rd here at this level and distance Aug. 3 after hitting the gate at the break. Stalker has won at this trip in the past, and it came here for a $50K tag July 12. Interesting longshot.
