Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #3 (MOTHER MOTHER) (3-1) - One of a pair entered by Bob Baffert, this stakes winner has been sharp in three straight since coming off almost an eight-month layoff Dec. 28. She likes it here (5-1-2-1), is one for one at this distance, and I give her top billing today.
2nd pick: #1 (Fighting Mad) (4-1) - The second of the Baffert fillies, she's lightly raced, well-bred, is 4-3-1-0 on fast tracks, and is training fast for her first since an easy win in a G3 going a mile at Del Mar Aug. 17.
3rd pick: #2 (First Star) (8-1) - This longshot is cutting back in distance while moving up in class. The lightly raced 4yo finished a distant 2nd as a heavy favorite going 8.5 furlongs Feb. 14, and this stretch runner would be helped by a fast and/or contested pace.
4th pick: #5 (Bellafina) (6-5) - The morning line and probable heavy favorite, this multiple G1 winner ships back from Oaklawn where she was away slowly before being beaten by 10 lengths in a sprint stakes April 25. Working fast, she loves it here (6-4-2-0), and is an obvious win candidate at a very short price.
