Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #10 (MOBOU) (3-1) - A $390,000 son of 'Uncle Mo', he's been sharp in both turf starts facing 'open' company. He's in today with fellow Calif. breds and draws an outside post that will give Mike Smith some early options. I give this 3yo a slight edge.
2nd pick: #5 (Brix) (5-1) - He's stretching out to a mile after finishing second here at this level going 6 1/2 furlongs Jan. 4. By far a career best, it was his first on the grass and he's dangerous in this spot.
3rd pick: #1 (Posterize) (12-1) - Longshot is stretching out in distance and is on the grass for the first time. He has early speed, draws the rail, and think he'll be competitive at a big price.
4th pick: #4 (Scrappy Deville) (6-1) - Another longshot, he moves up in class, stretches out in distance, and switches from dirt to turf. His debut Dec. 31 was a useful one and I like that Flavien Prat stays aboard.
5th pick: #2 (Sea of Liberty) (5-2) - Grey gelding has rallied to finish second in both starts after breaking rather poorly in each. He enters off a good effort facing weaker on the grass Jan. 13 and Joel Rosario sticks with him.
