2nd pick: #5 (Velvet Queen) (5-2) - A lightly raced filly by Derby winner 'Animal Kingdom', she's shortening up after an even third place finish here at this level going 6.5 furlongs Jan. 21. Competitive in all three starts, she's a threat from on or just off the lead.
3rd pick: #7 (Square Peggy) (4-1) - Speedy filly moves up in class and in with 'open' company after winning by a 'nose' here at this distance April 28 facing a weaker group of Calif. breds. She's one of a pair that has won twice and must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #1 (Devil's Dance) (6-1) - Another with early speed, she finished second here at this level going 6.5 furlongs Feb. 17. However, following a two month break, she tired badly under similar conditions April 13. She does have the rail and is capable of factoring at a square price with her 'A' game.
