It was her first back of a two month break and she had to race between horses during the stretch run. Speedy 3-year-old meets a very weak field and may have only one serious challenger.
2nd pick: #3 (Candy Tale) (9-5) - Four-year-old finished a troubled third when debuting at this level April 14 at Los Alamitos. Well backed that day, she's worked fast since and is a strong win candidate in this weak group.
3rd pick: #1 (U Go Gal) (10-1) - Lightly-raced grey filly ships in from Los Alamitos where she rallied to finish fourth when facing a mixed field of thoroughbreds and quarter-horses April 17. She was competitive in her debut going five-furlongs last Sept. and her owner/trainer is adding lasix.
4th pick: #4 (Carablanca) (20-1) - Filly showed a bit of improvement here May 14. It was her first since debuting facing tougher last August at Del Mar. She has some early speed and may get a piece of this at a very big price.
