Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #2 (JOEY'S ACE) (4-1) - This $210K gelding by 'Stormy Atlantic' pressed a quick pace before weakening to finish 4th going five furlongs on the Del Mar lawn Aug. 25. Only his second start, it was his first since debuting here on the dirt March 29. 3yo worked fast locally Oct. 6, and I like his prospects.
2nd pick: #9 (Stable Genius) (15-1) - Longshot has tired after flashing sharp early speed in a pair of dirt sprints. Trainer Peter Miller switches him to the grass (a 23% move) and has the hot apprentice, Jorge Velez, aboard.
3rd pick: #3 (Deuce) (6-1) - He's one of a trip of older runners and enters off a good effort Aug. 25 at Del Mar. He raced close up and stayed on to miss by 3.5 lengths while only a length behind 'Joey's Ace.' Blinkers are added and Evin Roman is back aboard following a two-race absence.
4th pick: #8 (Lord Adare) (7-2) - Another with some early speed, he's moving back to the grass following a pair of decent efforts on the dirt. Improving sort should factor in this spot.
