The latest of those came Dec 12 at Los Alamitos at this mile distance. Freshened up since, barn has worked him a half-dozen times since Jan 2.
2nd pick: #5 (Elegant Street) (4-1) - Stretch-out sprinter is moving from grass to dirt. Lightly raced 5-year-old has shown good early speed in all four starts and is very dangerous in a contest with little other pace on view.
3rd pick: #4 (Big Discovery) (5-2) - The second of the Yakteen pair, he lacks any early speed from the gate. However, he most always make a late run and has finished second and third in both starts on conventional dirt at this level. Away slowly here on the grass Jan 15, he was returning from a 3 1/2 month layoff that afternoon. He's worked above average twice since then and Bejarano stays aboard.
4th pick: #3 (Orion's Belt) (8-1) - Very lightly-raced, he's moving from grass to dirt and is making back-to-back starts for the first time. Well bred, working fine, think he's part of the pace picture. Can impact at a big price.
