Top pick: #3 (SPECIAL ENERGY) - Grey colt took some money in his debut and rallied to finish second racing at this price and distance on Dec. 20. Not easy to run 9 furlongs first out and it was a solid initial outing. Trainer Ron Glorioso brings him back on short notice and he'll be tough to beat with even minimal improvement.
2nd pick: #8 (Ben's Bonus) - He raced very wide when debuting here at this price going 7 furlongs on Dec. 19. He eventually would check-in 5th of 12, beaten 14 lengths in a contest dominated by the top two finishers. Stretches-out, and can be a threat with some improvement.
3rd pick: #2 (St Andrews) - He was beaten 22 1/2 lengths by "Energy" last out in a very poor performance. However, in his previous contest he finished a close-up fourth in the best effort of his nine race career. Can factor at a nice price with a repeat of that race.
