Top pick: #7 (BLACK LAGOON) (3-1) - She's been an improved runner since being claimed by Phil Aristone in late May. Stalker has gone 3-1-2-0 since then and last out was beaten a "head' racing here at this level going 5.5-furlongs. She draws a nice outside post, goes a longer distance, and she has a solid shot at beating the presumed heavy favorite (#4 Valerie Victoria).
2nd pick: #4 (Valerie Victoria) (6-5) - Grey filly ships down from Saratoga where she tired while racing wide facing much tougher. Speed/stalker broke her maiden here when debuting in late June of 2013 and is racing in a career soft spot. Obvious win candidate at a short price.
3rd pick: #3 (I'm Smokin Hot) (4-1) - She's cutting back in distance and dropping back down in price in her second off an Amy Albright claim. Daughter of "Scat Daddy" has some back races that make her a threat if repeatable.
4th pick: #5 (Dreamingofauntliz) (15-1) - Longshot is back in the barn of Patty Farro after going 7-0-3-1 this past winter when Farro was at Gulfstream. Filly has done well on off surfaces in the past at 5-1-3-0 and may grab a minor award at a big price with her best.
