Very wide at Churchill from an outside post (12-of-12) going 6.5 furlongs for a $50K tag Sept. 19, he's run well in both local attempts and missed by a 'head' at this distance facing tougher a year ago.
2nd pick: #8 (Trashtalkinyankee) (15-1) - He exits the same Sept. 19 race as 'Ready and Rich' and as two lengths in back of that rival. It Was his first starts since April 27 and he's making back-to-back appearances for the first time since last Fall. Longshot drops and think he'll be competitive at large odds.
3rd pick: #12 (New York Style) (9-2) - A lightly raced $360,000 son of 'Malibu Moon', he rallied to check in fourth of 12, beaten just under 5 lengths going a mile at Kentucky Downs for a $75K claiming price Sept. 2. He's switching back to dirt, drops to a new low, draws well, and has a trio of sharp local works heading into this attempt. In the mix.
4th pick: #10 (Sneads) (6-1) - He's dropping a bit and will be shortening up in distance for this attempt. He fits on figures, but will be far back in this 7 furlong contest after exiting seven straight going a mile or longer. A fast and/or contested pace would help his prospects out.
5th pick: #5 (Holly Sun) (5-1) - A NEW gelding, he's lightly raced and well bred. Un-raced since finishing third in a small field (6) going a mile Feb. 7 at Laurel. He's in a claimer for the first time, has Jose Ortiz aboard, and 3yo worked a sharp 5 furlongs at Fair Hill Sept. 21.
