Claimed Jan 25 by Marc Vitali, he moves him up to run for a $35,000 tag and I like his chances despite the fact he's facing tougher.
2nd pick: #10 (Jailhouse Kitten) (7-2) - Ramsey home bred by 'Kitten's Jo' rallied from close range to miss by a 'neck' here at this tag & trip Feb 2. A career best, it was his first in a claimer and he's the probable favorite and a very strong win candidate. I could have easily made him the top choice.
3rd pick: #12 (Long Blade) (15-1) - Longshot set a solid pace before tiring here Dec 29 at this mile distance for a $50K price tag. Only his 2nd start, it was his first on the turf and he drops down in value. I would like him a bit more if not for his outside post.
4th pick: #2 (Iron Johnny) (6-1) - NYRA shipper showed some ability facing tougher in his first three on the grass. His form in his last pair on the dirt were not very sharp, so I presume he was sent here specifically for the turf since there's no infield racing in New York until mid-April at best.
