It was her first race since May 27 and was only her second loss in the her last 14 attempts. A strong finisher, she won this race a year ago and can do it again with a trouble free trip.
2nd pick: #7 (Juliet Foxtrot) (3-1) - An English bred filly, she's won all three starts since coming to No. America and racing of a six month layoff beginning April 13. Speed/stalker won a G3 at Arlington Park July 13 and will be tough if she holds her form in her West Coast debut.
3rd pick: #4 (Toinette) (4-1) - A winner of five of six on the grass, she was a winner here going a mile Aug. 7 in her first race since late October. 4yo has a stalking style and must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #5 (Ahimsa) (8-1) - Lightly raced and speedy, she's won two of her last three and was only 1.5 lengths behind 'Vasilika' in the G1 Gamely Stakes at this distance May 27 at Santa Anita. Still improving and working fast, she may factor at a square price.
5th pick: #9 (Elysea's World) (10-1) - Irish bred veteran, was a bit 'short' when beaten just over 2 lengths in the local Yellow Ribbon (G2) Aug. 3. Only a bit over a length in back of 'Vasilika' that afternoon, this mare has a fine record at this demanding 9 furlong distance 12-4-4-0.
