Like 'Hallady', he's racing third back from a long layoff and is shortening up a furlong. 6yo won his return here facing fellow New York breds at this distance July 7 and that made him four for six at Belmont. He has the rail, a stalking style, and is dangerous.
3rd pick: #9 (Quarky) (4-1) - He's clearly the main speed and this 3yo draws a nice outside post at this distance to use it from. He ships from Monmouth where he finished a pace-setting third at this level going 8.5 furlongs Aug. 11. He won here in gritty gate-to-wire style going 6 furlongs June 30 and is in the mix.
4th pick: #2 (Mango M) (6-1) - This is the other state bred that's facing 'open' company. 4yo missed by just under 2 lengths at this level going 8.5 furlongs Aug 8 at Saratoga. He likes it at Belmont 7-3-1-1 and won locally at this distance facing weaker June 14.
