It was his first start at this level and first off an 8-week freshening. He enters off a bullet half-mile breeze Sept. 16 and will be tough in this spot.
2nd pick: #10 (Toga) (10-1) - Longshot tired badly when debuting Aug. 4 at Saratoga facing tougher. Claimed that day by Bob Diodoro for $40,000, he wins at a 21% rate first off the claim, adds blinkers (20%), and has him working fast. A 'live' longshot.
3rd pick: #9 (High Conviction) (9-2) - Three-year-old sold for $350,000 and is offered up today in his second start for $25,000. He tired badly when debuting in a two-turn grass contest at Saratoga Aug. 29. Trainer Chad Brown wins at a 29% rate second time out, 33% on this drop, and is at 25% on the distance cut back. Gelding by 'Arch' is set for a big race.
4th pick: #7 (Magnetron) (8-1) - He rallied to finish a distant second going 7 furlongs at Saratoga in an 'off the turf' contest Aug. 12. He's racing back into shape following a pair of layoffs and is capable of getting a share.
