Top pick: #8 (NOWHERE TO HIDE) - Colt by the late "Vindication" ran a big race at this tricky one-turn mile distance last out. Race a bit off the pace, rallied on the turn and fought it out gamely to the end, losing by a half-length. Draws a nice outside post and he's the choice for the win.
2nd pick: #5 (Proud Ruler) - He's finished evenly in his first two races, both of which were sprints. Trainer Bill Mott sends him a distance for the first time and he adds blinkers for the attempt. Colt is working like he's ready to show his best.
3rd pick: #3 (Retriever) - Set all the pace in the same race as the top pick and he held gamely all the way to finish a close-up third. Expect them to try similar tactics today.
