He tired here going a mile facing tougher Feb. 11 but had missed by only a 'head' in his previous start for a $50K tag. Capable sprinting and home bred should break his maiden in this spot.
2nd pick: #2 (Carmine's Honor) (7-2) - 'Carmine' is dropping into a claimer and racing in a sprint, both for the first time. He has early speed, breaks just off the rail, and he should factor with his normal effort.
3rd pick: #1 (Leading Storm) (8-1) - Longshot is making only his second start and does so off a private trainer change to Rudy Rodriguez (29% with new arrivals). Gelding tired while wide when debuting at this trip Feb. 8 and drops slightly while breaking from the rail.
4th pick: #5 (Frost Z) (10-1) - He raced evenly here facing tougher when debuting at this distance Jan. 27. Colt lost all chance when he had serious traffic issues right out of the gate and he may factor today with a clean beginning as he drops in class.
