Top pick: #3 (STONECOLDSTEAMER) - Speedy 3yo has been freshened up by trainedr Rick Dutrow since winning a first level allowance for fellow New York-breds at Belmont on Sep 15th. By far his best to date and this lightly raced gelding ran well on this surface when making his debut in late March. Nicely spotte and his regular Dominguez is aboard.
2nd pick: #2 (Driven by Solar) - Veteran, stalked, bid, and tired going 7 furlongs on the Belmont lawn in late Sep and will drop in class, move back to the dirt, and shorten up an 1/8th. He's proven a winner at this level in the past and was only beaten a length at it on this surface last April.
3rd pick: #5 (Precious Metal) - Strong finisher drops in class and goes turf to dirt for trainer Dave Jacobson. Gelding just missed to today's rival "Mineswept" racing at this level on the Saratoga dirt on Aug 20th and should get a fast pace to rally into.
