LOSS

The Wahoos lost two of their last three games landing them here, where they play a very good Gopher team with a mean offensive line. Minnesota is making its fourth straight bowl appearance and they have won their last three, including a win against Bama last season. The Gophers averaged 6.4 yards per play this season vs. teams giving up only 5.3 on average. Not good for Virginia as they are 0-12 ATS away from home versus good offensive teams that average >5.9 yards/play since 1992. Minnesota is also 6-0 ATS in non-conference games over the last 2 seasons. The Gophers a prototypical Big Ten power, pounding the ball on the ground with Maroney and using the play action pass for big plays down the field. This game will come down to the trenches, where Gopher lineman Eslinger and Setterstorm will prove to be the difference makers. Virginia doesn't want to be here and they recently lost three coaches to other teams. Two stars on the Gophers.
