Last season the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers went 7-5 and were denied a Bowl bid. This season they came back to an identical 7-5 record and were rewarded with their first Bowl in school history. It earned Coach Willie Taggert the job at South Florida. Defensive coordinator Lance Guidry will take over for the bowl game and Bobby Petrino takes over next season. Antonio Andrews had a big finish to a big season for WKU as he ran for over 200 yards in each of his last two games and over 1,600 for the season. Central Michigan is an unlikely Bowl team as the Chippewas were sitting at 3-6, facing three games in 13 days and needing to run the table to become Bowl eligible, and they got it done. This might be the weakest Bowl team in quite some time when you consider their last four wins were vs. teams that were a combined 8-38 on the season. A fifth win was vs. a team not even in the FBS in SE Missouri State. While they may get some traction early off of their three wins to close the season and perhaps a jittery start by a WKU school that has not ever been in a Bowl. In the end WKU has the talent to win, and the closer in Andrews. Play Western Kentucky on the moneyline.
