The Tennessee Volunteers are off to a 11-5 start as they take their game on the road in conference action vs. South Carolina. Tennessee can thank their defense for the record thus far. It took some time, but the Vols have finally bought in on the defensive end, and it has paid dividends. Tennessee started the season at just 4-4 allowing 68.9 points per game, but they have since gone 7-1 while allowing 55.3 ppg. That is a 16-point turnaround, and it has transformed this team from pedestrian to good. South Carolina has not topped the 68-point mark in their last five games, and on the season they have held their opponent to 60 or less on nine occasions.
