Providence at Rhode Island

Jared Bynum was supposed to be the star for Providence after it lost most of its starters from last season, but he has been joined by three other double-figure scorers topped by Bryce Hopkins, who averages 14.6 points on 47 percent shooting and 37.5 percent on 3-pointers. Bynum is averaging 9.5 points and 5.3 assists as the Friars have won five of their first eight games although they need to rebound from a 75-62 loss at TCU on Wednesday. Rhode Island is 2-5 and obviously still adjusting to new coach Archie Miller, who is struggling to install a more up-tempo offense. The Rams are scoring only 62.9 points per game and shooting just 37.4 percent overall and 24.6 percent from 3-point range and they lost to Boston College 53-49 on Sunday while shooting 30.5 percent. Rhode Island is 6-16 ATS its past 22 games overall, but play Providence on the money line.
