This year's March Madness Cinderalla continues to win. And continues to get no respect. Didn't they just beat the tournament favorite and #1 seed UCONN? I think so. Yet we get 6 to 6.5 points on them here. They have made it to the Final Four with great guard play, solid defense and a loose free-style of play. When you look at these two teams, you may think Florida is a team who scores more points and will move the ball, but in reality, George Mason can score just as many points as anyone. In the Tourney, Florida has scored just over 72ppg. George Mason has done the same. That's right, these two teams are about even in scoring. George Mason has given up less ppg on the year and play a very patient style of basketball where they take quality shots and have very few turnovers while their strong defense is able to force turnovers which turn into fast break points. They will have trouble with the size that FLA is bringing to the table, but based on just size alone it not enough reason to give 6 points om a Final Four game. The Patriots showed incredible heart and poise in the Connecticut game. They were down by 9 at half to the #1 team and just stayed patient and relaxed and closed the gap. In overtime you would have thought that Connecticut, knowing they can't releax, would have come out strong and won. Nope. George Mason took it to them. The Patriots have now beaten Michigan State, UNC and UCONN. They can hang with Florida. Will George Mason be intimitated here? Nah. Might they win? Maybe. Will they cover the spread? Yes.
