Super Bowl 53 is nearly here, and I am stoked!

It's been an amazing NFL season. I've won 18 of 24 weeks and I am 55 games above .500. On the year, dime players have won $40,080.
That's a 40% return on initial bankroll.

Now it culminates in the big game! Super Bowl Sunday is my favorite betting day of the year.

Of course I love it as a fan. But I love it more as a professional sports bettor. Just like Andy Reid, give me 2 weeks to prepare, and I am gonna eat your lunch, bookmakers.

Over the past 11 years, I have gone 10-1 on my Super Bowl picks. The lone loss was Seattle's goal line interception vs. the Patriots a few seasons back.

I also love the prop bet opportunities. You see, the oddsmakers hand us many gifts on Super Bowl Sunday. They know we love the prop bets. And on average, they are a huge money-maker for the books.

Most people bet without doing much thinking. They go with their gut - or they bet what they WANT to see happen, vs. what is likely to happen.

There are so many prop bets and the oddsmakers generally use math and averages to come up with odds. Often that works and they make their money.

Other times, they miss some important developments. They may use averages over the regular season and apply that to this game, which can be very different.

Or, they use Super Bowl averages over 52 games, ignoring recent trends that have changed those numbers dramatically.

Or, sometimes they know they are putting out odds that don't reflect the true odds, because they realize that the betting public is going to heavily favor one side.

The risk is pretty low for them, as they limit bet sizes on the props, and they get enough dumb money on both sides.

For those of us that do the math though, it provides tremendous opportunity - the best betting opportunity all year long.

I don't make picks based on wishes, hunches, gut feel or to support something I want to happen.I make picks based on math. I look for solid edges and I exploit them.
