Washington at Philadelphia

Washington failed in their attempt at home to sweep Miami, falling in Game 3 by a 4-3 score. While they won two of three at home they outscored the Marlins just 13-10 and now must hit the road for the first time, in Philadelphia. The Phillies opened on the road losing two of three to the Reds. The Phillies have to be encouraged by the spring performance of Vince Velasquez, who will get the ball for the opener. Velasquez was 2-1 with a 2.75 ERA, and an eye-opening 25 strikeouts in just 19 innings of work, culminating with a seven K performance against the Blue Jays. Opponents score 3.89 runs per game off Scherzer on the road over his career, and I like Vasquez to keep the Phillies in this one. Play on Philadelphia.
