WIN

These two teams play very different styles of basketball. While Washington enjoys playing transition basketball, they are a much more defensive oriented team; giving up just 125 pts in two games so far this tournament (compared to UConn who has given up 142 and one of those games was versus a 16 seed). While their basketball program may not be as tall as UCONN, Washington was the best rebounding team in the Pac-10. This statistic means Washington knows how to get position and box out their larger opponents, and turn those rebounds into fast break opportunities. Despite their lower scoring and defensive games, Washington has actually averaged more points per game than the Huskies and have also shot better FG%, 3pt% and FT% this season. Washington doesn't have the same number of superstar athletes as UCONN, but they enjoy sharing the basketball (more assists per game than Connecticut) and team basketball such as that is exactly what can cause an upset in the March Madness Tournament. Duke lost last night...will UConn be the second #1 team to lose? I think not, but 6.5 points in a tournament of so many buzzer-beaters is too many points. Especially given UCONN's recent ATS performance (0-5 in last five and 2-7 in last nine). Take 5th seeded Washington and their 6.5 points here.
