LOSS

The Washington Nationals are stumbling into the All Star break, losing three in a row, but favored here. Washington goes with young righty, Taylor Jordan (0-2), who has allowed more hits (19) than innings pitched (15.5). Nationals manager, Davey Johnson, noted this week the rookie right-hander is going through the normal growing pains of being a major-league pitcher. Even though Washington is favored, they have fewer road wins than Miami has at home. The Nationals are 1-5 in their last six road games. Miami has won three in a row, and the Marlins are 9-3 in their last 12 home games.  They have the 2-1 win yesterday in 10 innings. After facing the Braves in his first two starts, starter Henderson Alvarez will like facing the punchless Nationals, who are 27th in runs scored and 28th in on base percentage. The Marlins are 6-2 in their last eight home games vs. a team with a losing road record, and the Nationals are 20-43 in the last 63 meetings in Miami. Play Miami.
