WIN

The Pac-12 had a good season as a conference bringing seven teams into the Big Dance. However, we got a glimpse yesterday that the conference strength may have been over-stated as the Pac-12 went 1-3. Offense was surely lacking for these teams, as only Utah scored their season average or better. They are also making an NCAA Tournament appearance for the first time in 26 years, so none of these players are tourney tested and could have some nervous issues early in the game, further hampering the offense. VCU is noted for a pressure defense that takes teams deeper into the shot clock than perhaps they would like, and both these teams are ordinary offensively, with neither connecting on more than 45% from the field. The difference here is going to be who can defend better, and Oregon State did not lose the season very well just 7-6 in their last 13 games, and only held one opponent in their last eight games to less than 41.2%. VCU has held three of their last five opponents to less than 38%, and from what we have seen so far, the Pac-12 may be overrated. Take VCU on the moneyline.
