LOSS

Both teams played last night. Colorado lost at Dallas, but is 5-3 in their last eight home games, including a win over the Blackhawks 6-2. The Avalanche is 9-5-1 at the Pepsi Center. The Vancouver Canucks wind up a three-game road trip here and they don't like playing on get-away day (the Canucks are 1-10 in their last 11 Sunday games). More important, they are not healthy and this is their third game in four nights. Vancouver is tied with Minnesota atop the Northwest Division but is dealing with mounting injuries. David Booth is out for the rest of the season after undergoing surgery on his left ankle, while Ryan Kesler’s broken foot still is not fully healed. Zack Kassian has missed two contests with a sore back, leaving more ice time for rookie Jordan Schroeder. Captain Gabriel Landeskog missed Saturday's contests with a torso injury and Ryan Wilson is out with an ankle injury. Plus, defenseman Erik Johnson is minus-2 in eight games since returning from a concussion. Take Colorado.
