UMass-Lowell at Rutgers

UMass Lowell is in its third season of Division I play and still adjusting after losing five of its last six games, including 88-79 at Connecticut on Dec. 20. Jahad Thomas scored 19 points and Josh Gantz added 18 points, but the River Hawks were overwhelmed by UConn's 64 percent shooting from the field.  Rutgers beat Fairleigh Dickson 72-64 on Wednesday as Corey Sanders scored 21 points and Mike Williams added 14 points and 10 rebounds. Rutgers is in the third year of coach Eddie Jordan's rebuilding plan and improved from last season but still has a way to go. Sanders leads the Scarlet Knights with 13.5 points per game followed by DeShawn Freeman with 13.1. The Scarlet Knights should win this one, but the value play is Rutgers on the moneyline.
