Result:
WIN

Tulane is off back-to-back 3-9 campaigns and the offense has to learn a new playbook under first-year coach Willie Fritz. Fritz is a proponent of running the football, which eats up yards and the clock. He has had success with the triple option, but for his new team he has untested QBs Glen Cuiellette and Darius Bradwell after last year's two starting quarterbacks opted to transfer out. This offense is short on skill-position talent, scoring seven and 10 points in its first two games last year (19.7 points per game for the season). The receivers are unproven and the line is replacing three starters. They also tallied 10, 7, 14, 13, 3 and 21 points in six other defeats. The defense is the strength of the team with All-AAC contenders in DT Tanzel Smart, LB Nico Marley and ball-hawking defensive backs Jarrod Franklin and Parry Nickerson. They face a Wake Forest team that is similar, rebuilding with a terrible offense. Dave Clawson has been able to build a decent defense, but the offense has little talent with the team is on a 35-16-1 run UNDER the total. They won a game in 2015 that was scoreless at the end of regulation -- 6-3 over Virginia Tech in double overtime! Wake averaged 12 ppg in ACC play two years ago and ranked #107 in scoring last year. Wake Forest is on an 18-8-1 run UNDER the total on fieldturf, plus a 12-5-1 run UNDER at home. Look for a battle of some field goals and a lot of punts. Play this one to finish UNDER the total.
