WIN

Toronto loses the DH as it heads to Atlanta, which is also a big park and tough on hitters. It's not a good situational spot for the Blue Jays, their eighth straight road contest, plus they come off a showdown for first place with the Yankees. Toronto took three of four from New York to open a 3 1/2-game lead, but were shutout 5-0 in the finale Sunday while playing without injured shortstop Troy Tulowitzki. He is out 2-3 weeks after suffering a fractured shoulder blade Saturday, removing a big bat from the lineup. Toronto has a losing road record and the Blue Jays are 17-35 in interleague road games against a team with a losing record. 36-year-old starter Mark Buehrle doesn't inspire confidence right now, getting a cortisone shot in his ailing left shoulder last Wednesday. He suffered through his shortest outing of the season on September 7, when he was reached for five runs and nine hits in 3 1/3 innings in a loss at Boston. Buehrle struggled in his last start against an NL opponent too, yielding four runs and seven hits in four innings at lowly Philadelphia last month. Atlanta plays its fifth straight home game and is 9-3 in Julio Teheran's last 12 home starts, plus 13-5 at home when he faces a team with a winning record. Toronto is the road chalk but the Blue Jays are 4-12 against the Braves, including 2-9 at Atlanta. Take Atlanta.
