St. Louis at San Diego

Jack Flaherty will make his second start for St. Louis after getting clobbered his first time out as he allowed five runs on eight hits in just four innings at San Francisco. Fortunately for him, the Cardinals offense bailed him out and they ended up winning 11-6 on Friday. San Diego is in fifth place in the NL West, but the Padres still are four games above .500 at home while the Cardinals are 34-36 on the road. Dinelson Lamet has pitched better than his record indicates as the Padres have scored a total of only two runs his last three starts in which he's given up just five runs in 16 2/3 innings. Lamet had a 2.54 ERA in August and he has a 3.66 ERA at Petco Park this season. San Diego has won seven of its last 10 after losing the first two games of a series. Take the Padres.
