(# 8) PAINT - Nick Zito trainee cost $400,000 as a yearling. Comes into his initial race with some very eye-popping works in tow. Huge work from the gate here on the 27th of July, and it appears that this colt can really motor. Cornelio Velasquez and Zito have been a good combo over the past 18 months (7 for 34).

(# 5) Api Mohkat - Nice run in only start a well-bet race at Calder. Runner was with a good trainer in Bill White, and showed good debut speed. Now trained by Bill Badgett, he had a very quick move here on July 24th.

(# 7) Devereux - Debuts for the Asmussen barn, and they are almost legendary for early two-year-old success. Son of Forestry's lates worf is a pretty solid one. Jockey Gomez and Asmussen are 31% over the past 1 1/2 years.
